Grant Petersen, author of Eat Bacon, Don’t Jog (Eat bacon, don’t jog) follows the principles of the ketogenic diet.
He advised ejecting from eating carbohydrates since they are the ones primarily responsible for overweight.
For years, Petersen tried to lose weight in a conventional manner, such as eating low-fat foods and doing cardiovascular exercises.
However, he was not always successful, but after a lot of research, he decided to try the ketogenic diet.
The ketogenic diet is based on consumption of protein and fat with expelling carbohydrates from food (flour, biscuits, pasta, sweets …).
The menu relies on meat (all kinds of meat, but it is not recommended consumption of meat products such as sausages, hot dogs, etc), fish, eggs, fatty cheese, together with vegetables. Eating a lot of fat: butter, coconut oil, and olive oil.

What is important to emphasize that in the implementation of the ketogenic diet, if you want to lose weight, there must be a caloric deficit so the number on weight scale go down. Ketosis alone, if you enter too many calories, will not lead to weight loss.
“During this diet effectively can be performed occasional fasting, which aims to clean the intestines, detoxification of the body and allow the body to “forget” frequent snacking and regular meals reducing the desire for sweets,” advises Peterson.

In fact, during the 24-hour period, 16 hours is fasting, while eight hours is the period in which it is allowed to eat, for example, consume food only in the period from noon to 20 pm, and from then until noon the next day fast.
